NEWCU Diary

Our AGM was held on 19 November and was well attended, thanks to all who came along. Our Chairperson, Sandra, gave a report on the past year which was another one of growth for the Credit Union. Sandra also thanked all of the volunteers whose hard work keeps NEWCU going.

Alex, our Treasurer gave us his financial report, and recommended a dividend payment rate of 3.3% for 2008. This was approved by the meeting.

Three directors stood for re-election and were accepted unopposed.

The meeting concluded with refreshments.

The 2008 AGM of NEWCU will be held on Wednesday, 19 November at the Fearnhead Cross Community Centre, Insall Road, Padgate, Warrington from 7:30pm.

Our Credit Union financial year ended on 30 September. Our accounts are being audited and will be presented at the Annual General Meeting. The meeting will vote on the dividend rate for 2008 savings. We are inviting nominations for the Board of Directors and retiring Directors will seek re-election.

Our Chair will give an update of the progress of the Credit Union in the last year.

All members (only) are welcome to attend and vote, please bring along your passbook as proof of membership.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Our AGM is on 17 November at 7pm. It will be at the Hawthorne Centre, Orange Grove, Warrington. All members are very welcome to attend and vote (please bring your passbook to show John at the door). Light refreshments will be provided.

Afterwards we’ll be walking over to the Jolly Falstaff pub where our Treasurer, Alec, will be testing our knowledge with one of his fiendish quizzes. All this and a splendid Hotpot supper - you’d be mad to miss it.

So cancel your appointment with the tv and join us next Thursday.

This year’s Annual General Meeting of the North East Warrington Credit Union will be held on 17 November. It starts at 7pm, at the Hawthorne Centre, Orange Grove, Warrington. Refreshments will be provided.

All members are eligible to attend and vote on motions and for the election of directors. Anyone considering standing for election should contact our office at Telfer House, Vulcan Close, tel. 01925 492688.
